Auqaf Organization is working for the management and control of waqf properties including masajid and madrassas across the province.
The vision of the present Govt. is to widen the scope of the Auqaf Department, so that it can be a lighthouse for the guidance of the masses in all religious matters. The establishment of Model Deeni Madrassas, devising of a new curricula according to the present day needs for the religious institutions and assigning active role to the imams/ khateebs, so that they can convey the public message to all corners of the province instantly are some of the salient features of our that vision.
Auqaf Department in collaboration with the Religious Affairs Department is to work for bridging the gap not only between Madrassa and school but also between different religious sects by introducing the culture of tolerance, harmony and respect through holding of seminars, dialogues and conferences so that the society is more integrated and harmonized.
Auqaf Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Peshawar was established in 1949 with an aim to promote religious education, harmony among the public, looking after the needs of Auqaf Masajid to provide serene atmosphere to the Muslims of this Province. We have by the Grace of Almighty Allah, achieved this goal/ milestone by providing excellent Masajid in different parts of this Province and especially in Peshawar District.
The Department is running Schools and Darul Ulooms to impart quality education to the population of this region in order to develop socio, economic and religious harmony by providing quality teaching while strengthening the identity of the students at national and international level. Beside this, the Department is looking after the historical Masajid and well known Shrines in the province also.
Auqaf Department through Quran Board carries the sacred duty of keeping close eye on printing and publishing of the Holy Quran free from all type of errors. The department successfully arranges conferences on regular basis to bring the different sects of the society on one table to promote the culture of dialogue. It also organizes Naat and Qirrat competitions and hold Seeratun Nabbi Conferences. Participation in Mefile Shabina is another sacred function of the Department too. To help the poor the department extends its support to the poor of this province through charity fund on regular basis. The Department has appointed District and Tehsil Khateebs in almost all district/ tehsil of the province to unite the people and play the role of a bridge between the state and the general masses. The department performs all these sacred duties through generation of revenue from waqf properties.
The Department today continuous its forward march never looking back, committed to excellence in all sphere of its given parameters.
